Get ready to welcome summer with our Classical & Pops Celebration, when the NIH Community Orchestra and Chorus perform in the beautiful Cokie Boggs Roberts '60 Theater, on the campus of the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, Mater Center (below). Cheer for your favorite orchestra section, when the Strings deliver Dvorak's Serenade, the Winds & Brass build musical bridges across Beethoven marches; then we'll illuminate Gilbert and Sullivan light opera classics, alongside the NIH Community Chorus; plus we'll showcase a salute to Richard Rodgers!

Free admission with RSVP, donations gratefully accepted for NIH Charities and to support orchestra operations. See you in Bethesda!

Is free parking available?

Yes, enter Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart parking lots from Rockville Pike, or from Cedar Lane (just east of the Pike). Once parked, follow signs to "Mater Center."

What is the program order?

Dvorak's Serenade for Strings; Beethoven Marches; G. Gabrieli's Canzon XVI (arranged by Eric Crees); Gilbert and Sullivan (variety); and A Salute to Richard Rodgers.

Are children welcome?

Yes, children are always welcome at NIH Community Orchestra concerts.

Founded in1996, the all-volunteer NIH Community Orchestra performs one holiday and two Spring concerts each year, and is celebrating its second season in Silver Spring. Recent offerings have included NIHCO's family-friendly "Pops" concert; plus the return of our traditional Messiah sing-along, with the NIH Community Chorus. Concerts offer free admission, with donations gratefully accepted to support NIH Charities, and orchestral operations.
