Vibraphonist, bandleader, composer & arranger Nick Mancini returns to Southern California to play a few live shows and record. This concert will feature his latest project, which he’s really excited about. “The Next Step” is a series of compositions chronicling his family's harrowing journey from LA to Tulsa at the dawn of the pandemic during the height of tornado season, with a seven-month old, three cats, and all of their Earthly belongings in tow. Since relocating with his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma, Nick remains a creative force on the Los Angeles jazz scene – a distinction he’s held for 15+ years and running. He continues to bring his brilliant and entertaining live performances to the stage and to record new material with some of his favorite LA musicians. This is the perfect opportunity to be up close & personal with Nick and his band in a cozy, intimate house concert setting in Glassell Park/Mt. Washington with world-class sound.
