About this event

  • 1 hour

Nicholas Sparks will be making a brief stop in Greenville on his tour and is available for a quick meet-and-greet opportunity with his fans.

Get your photo made with bestselling author Nicholas Sparks as well as a signed copy of his new book, Counting Miracles, at an in-person meet-and-greet on Saturday, September 28th, starting at 12pm Eastern.

Each ticket includes one pre-signed regular edition hardcover book, an opportunity to take a professional photo with Mr. Sparks, and a downloadable file of your photo.

Check-in opens at 11:30am, and please be in line no later than the meet-and-greet start time, 12pm. Our past experience is that this event moves amazingly fast.

This is a rain-or-shine event and the line will run outside. Please bring rain jackets and umbrellas if the forecast looks bad.

Tickets can be purchased through 12 pm on Saturday, 9/28/24. Refunds can be requested up until the ticket cutoff.

WE WILL NOT SHIP EVENT BOOKS, so only purchase an event ticket if you plan to attend in person. If you cannot make the event, make sure you are on our mailing list. After the event, if we have any remaining signed books, we will let our list know.

Please read all information below regarding event procedures before purchasing your ticket, as your purchase indicates your agreement to all terms.

EVENT CHECK-IN

  • Please do NOT approach Event Check-In without a ticket. NO WALK-INS. Do not join the meet-and-greet line until you have checked-in! The Event Check-in station will be outside and not near our door (probably on the ramp area between Kid to Kid and Southern Fried Green Tomatoes but look for the signs).
  • You can print physical tickets or show us the ticket bar code on your phone. If you purchased a ticket but can't find it you can show us a driver's license that matches our record of the ticket purchaser.
  • If you know you want more signed books before ticket sales cut off, purchase additional tickets through Eventbrite (if available) to guarantee signed books. Ticket cutoff is Saturday, September 28th, at 12 pm. If we have additional books available after ticket cutoff, you may be able to add-on at the event. Ask staff at the event.
  • Everyone who enters the store for the event MUST have at least one ticket (each ticket includes one book). The only exceptions are for children 12 and under.
  • Mr. Sparks will NOT be signing books in front of customers. At check in, you will receive a colored ticket that you will redeem at our door for your signed book. DO NOT LOSE YOUR BOOK TICKET.
  • IF YOU HAVE TO LEAVE AFTER CHECKING-IN, BUT BEFORE REDEEMING YOUR TICKET, GET A STAFF MEMBER TO INITIAL YOUR TICKET and then you can redeem it at our store the following week.
  • Please note that no matter how long you’ve been waiting in line, we reserve the right to insert individuals with physical limitations ahead of you in the line.

IF YOU CANNOT STAND FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME:

  • Purchase a physical limitations ticket for yourself and up to 1 able-bodied companion. This ticket allows you to check in when you arrive (we recommend arriving between 11:45am and noon if possible).
  • Arrange to have a driver who can drop you off and then park at the mall as our parking lot will fill.
  • We will have a separate check-in area for you, closer to our front door. Watch for an email closer to the event date with details.

**More Details About How the Event Will Work**

- NO OUTSIDE BOOKS ALLOWED. Mr. Sparks will be pre-signing ONLY copies of Counting Miracles (no backlist, no posters, no body parts, etc.) that are purchased through Fiction Addiction. He will NOT personalize.

- You will NOT be allowed to pick up your book prior to the event to read it. All books will be pre-signed by Mr. Sparks once he arrives and MUST be picked up from us at the event.

- Each book ticket allows 1 person to attend the photo op meet-and-greet and have one professional photograph with Mr. Sparks. You will be given information to download your FREE signing photo within a week of the event. We will NOT slow down the signing for any personal photographs. If you are in a group, decide in advance whether you want a group photo or individual ones. Two people can have a max of two photos, not two individual AND a group photo.

- The lines to check in and then get into the store will be running outside on the sidewalk. Dress for the weather and bring an umbrella if need be.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Nicholas Sparks is one of the world’s most beloved storytellers. All of his books have been New York Times bestsellers, with over 130 million copies sold worldwide, in more than 50 languages, including over 92 million copies in the United States alone.

Sparks wrote one of his best-known stories, The Notebook, over a period of six months at age 28 while living in Simpsonville, SC. It was published in 1996 and he followed with the novels Message in a Bottle (1998), A Walk to Remember (1999), The Rescue (2000), A Bend in the Road (2001), Nights in Rodanthe (2002), The Guardian (2003), The Wedding (2003), True Believer (2005) and its sequel, At First Sight (2005), Dear John (2006), The Choice (2007), The Lucky One (2008), The Last Song (2009), Safe Haven (2010), The Best of Me (2011), The Longest Ride (2013), See Me (2015), Two by Two (2016), Every Breath (2018), The Return (2020), The Wish (2021), and Dreamland (2022) as well as the 2004 non-fiction memoir Three Weeks With My Brother, co-written with his brother Micah. His twenty-fourth novel, Counting Miracles, will be published on September 24, 2024.

Film adaptations of Nicholas Sparks novels, including The Choice, The Longest Ride, The Best of Me, Safe Haven (on all of which he served as a producer), The Lucky One, Message in a Bottle, A Walk to Remember, The Notebook, Nights in Rodanthe, Dear John and The Last Song, have had a cumulative worldwide gross of over three-quarters of a billion dollars. The Notebook has also been adapted into a musical, featuring music and lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson.

Sparks lives in North Carolina. He contributes to a variety of local and national charities, and is a major contributor to the Creative Writing Program (MFA) at the University of Notre Dame, where he provides scholarships, internships, and a fellowship annually. He co-founded The Epiphany School in New Bern, North Carolina in 2006. As a former full scholarship athlete (he still holds a track and field record at the University of Notre Dame) he also spent four years coaching track and field athletes at the local public high school. In 2009, the team he coached at New Bern High School set a World Junior Indoor Record in the 4×400 meters, as well as US High School National Records in the 800 Medley and 1600 Medley.

The Nicholas Sparks Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, was founded in 2011, to provide scholarships and fund educational programs for underprivileged and disadvantaged youth. Between the foundation, and the personal gifts of the Sparks family, more than $15 million dollars have been distributed to deserving charities, scholarship programs, and projects. Because the Sparks family covers all operational expenses of the foundation, 100% of donations are devoted to programs.
