Frequently asked questions

How are NGA's funds used?

We use the funds for the logistics and purchase of new clothing and personal times for in-need children & youth. Goods include coordinated outfits, underwear, socks, winter coats, grooming items, and other items that support their ability to go to school safely and without stigma.

NGA's been around for 139 years?? Tell me more about the history!

The National Giving Alliance, formerly The Needlework Guild of America, was founded in 1885. We have been providing only new clothes to displaced children & youth as our founders believed that new clothes equalize and used clothes pauperize. We have distributed more than 125 million clothes.

How does NGA choose who to serve?

NGA partners with approved nonprofit agencies and school districts. Students who receive a free or reduced lunch at school qualify for NGA's services.

About the venue

The Fuge is an unconventional experience. It is the largest and most powerful centrifuge ever built. Developed by the U.S. Navy in 1949 to simulate gravitational forces experienced by pilots during flight, the 180-ton centrifuge prepared America’s early astronauts for their missions into space.
