This is a hybrid NFPA Fire Officer 1 course presented by DPSST. Once students have registered on Eventbrite they will need to email Rick Cooper at Rick.Cooper@dpsst.oregon.gov and give him your email for reousrce one and he will enroll you in the class. Students will complete all modules with quizzes and tests. Prior to the in person portion of the course, students must have 80% or higher on all tests and complete all course work. The 2 day in person class will be full of activities and review of course materials. This course offers the building blocks of leadership and personnel management in the fire service. This class is best for people that are currently in a leadership role or will soon be in a leadership role.
• Dress for the class is business casual or Class B uniform.
• Students will have a task book initiated but will not be completely signed off.
• Class will be held 8am to 5pm with a 1 hour lunch both days.
• Students must be affiliated with an Oregon fire department.
• Students must be, or close to completing, NFPA Firefighter 2 and NFPA Instructor 1.
