Course Information:
This 6-day course prepares command officers to manage incidents in high-risk areas. It covers the Incident Command System (ICS), decision-making, strategic/tactical planning, pre-incident preparation, documentation, and post-incident analysis. Using lectures, case studies, simulations, and student participation, the course examines complex scenarios involving target hazards like prisons, oil facilities, nursing homes, colleges, and chemical plants. It focuses on incident management rather than tactical operations, emphasizing the development of Incident Management Teams.

- Student Eligibility Requirements- You may take courses offered by the National Fire Academy (NFA) if you have substantial involvement in fire prevention and control, emergency medical services, fire-related emergency management activities or aligned professions. In most cases, you can't take the same course more than once.
