North Sails President and current Bermuda Race elapsed time record holder, Ken Read will be joined by professional sailor and coach, Jesse Fielding to explain all the action on the water.

For the first time in its 118-year history, the Newport Bermuda Race ocean race has moved the starting line of the 636-mile iconic ocean race right off the shoreline of Fort Adams State Park, so we are having a party to send off the 170 boats! Get ready to witness the start of this epic race while enjoying live entertainment, commentary, delicious food, and refreshing drinks. Don't miss out on this unique experience to celebrate with fellow sailing enthusiasts and cheer on the participants as they embark on their journey. Come and be part of the action at the starting line!

Is there free parking?

Yes! All parking is free at Fort Adams.

Is there other ways to get to the Fort Adams?

Yes! The one-hour Providence Ferry departs at 9:30 and 12:30 to downtown Newport, where you can bike or take Oldport's Newport Harbor Shuttle. The Jamestown Ferry has a drop-off at the Fort.

Can I bring outside Food or Beverage?

No. Security will be checking bags upon entry. Food is available for purchase from Food Trucks and beverages inside our Regatta Bar.

Is this Handicap Accessible?

Yes, the grounds are handicap accessible.

Is this a kid friendly event?

Of course! We will have games and food throughout the park.

Founded in 1906, the 53rd running of the Bermuda Race is scheduled for June 2024, and for the first time in the 118-year history, the start will be just off the shoreline, allowing for public viewing at Fort Adams State Park.
