Description
Navigating Cultures in Global Communication
A Master Class with Kara Alaimo, Ph.D.
As communicators, we are expected to successfully navigate cultures in a global landscape. If we don’t, a PR nightmare or failed market launch could be the result. With that pressure, how would we know if national or local papers pack more punch in Italy? Or the best approach to driving sales in Japan?
New York IABC is pleased to present an encore presentation of this Master Class with Kara Alaimo, PhD, to explore these questions and many more. If you missed Kara’s workshop in November, here’s your second chanceto delve into the world's ten different "cultural clusters" and the messages, strategies, and tactics that work best within each of them. And as part of this highly interactive workshop, attendees are encouraged to bring their own real-world intercultural challenges for discussion and advice.
Kara is the author of Pitch, Tweet, or Engage on the Street: How to Practice Global Public Relations and Strategic Communication (Routledge, 2016), a compilation of her own research into best communications practices across global cultures. A frequent contributor to high-profile media outlets such as The New York Times, CNN and Bloomberg, she is also a former United Nations and Obama administration communicator, Assistant Professor of Public Relations Hofstra University and a consultant to organizations tackling these very same challenges.
Light hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks will be offered. Sign up today!
