What experience do I need to have?

No experience is needed, but participants should be comfortable handling tools and hiking in the elements.

What level of activity does this entail?

Tasks will vary in their degree of intensity, but it can be demanding work. Volunteers need to be prepared to hike to and from a project site while carrying tools and their personal gear. Please contact us if you would like to verify any of this information.

There is a porta potty at the meeting location. However, sometimes the projects will not be near the trailhead where the porta potty is located.

What do I need to bring with me?

Garden/work gloves, plenty of water for the day, food and snacks, sunscreen, a hat, layers (jacket etc), and anything you might need to be comfortable during the day. A backpack is useful to carry your items. Wear durable work clothing that you don't mind getting snags in! No pets allowed.

What work will we be doing?

Digging, Cutting and removing fallen trees to clear the trail corridor, Maintaining and constructing structures such as rock walls, steps, or bridges, Clearing overgrown vegetation on the trail, Maintaining and improving the trail tread (tread is the area where people and stock walk on the trail).
