Description of the course: The New Shooter Only Pistol class is designed for the new shooter, first-time gun owner, or those wishing to revisit the basics of safe pistol shooting. SEMI-AUTOMATIC pistols are preferred, but revolvers are accessible. This 3-hour class is designed to help familiarize the new shooter with firearm safety rules, the safe operation and handling of their new pistol, along with understanding how to properly clear, load, unload, and fire their pistol. In addition, participants will learn the basics of marksmanship which includes proper grip and shooting stance, along with range safety rules.

Maximum number of students accepted: 4

Minimum number of students to hold the class: 2

Cost:  $50 

Any prerequisites to attend the training: Must be at least 21 years old.

Things a student must bring to the training:

Semi-automatic pistol (22lr, .380ACP, 9mm) preferred

50 rounds of pistol ammunition (No reloads)

2 x pistol magazines, preferred

Range-appropriate clothing; long pants, a comfortable shirt, and athletic shoes

Clear wrap-around ballistic eye protection

Hearing protection (electronic recommended)

Water & snacks

Notebook with pen/pencil

A positive attitude and a willingness to learn all you can to be a responsible handgun owner

Anything a student should do in preparation for the training: Talk to a friend/family member about taking the class with you. It is always fun to have someone you know in class. Keep close watch on calendar and email as location could change depending on weather.
