NEW! Self Care Collage Journal Workshop

We are pleased to Welcome Kat Ostrem of Kat Ostrem Art & Design to the Nest, for a NEW Collage Journal Workshop!

Join Kat Osterm here at the Nest for a unique, self care collage journal workshop. During this workshop, you will create your own collage journal from linocut patterns that are hand-stamped by Kat on various colored and textured papers. Some of the patterns include florals, mountains, moon phases, and leaves. I will also provide various inspirational quotes, washi tape, and assorted markers that can be used to add different textures and patterns to your collage. Additionally, each attendee will be equipped with a pair of scissors and a glue stick for assembly.

Kat Ostrem is a self-taught artist who also has a Masters Degree in Library Science. She is a mother of 2 sweet children and a wife to a loving and supportive husband. She is originally from Pennsylvania and has been living on Long Island for 13 years. She has always had a love for the creative arts including drawing, painting, and sewing. Three years ago, she taught herself linocut design and started her small business creating textile patterns from her linocut stamps. She has been selling at various local artisan markets and taught her first collage journal workshop in March of this year. She is blown away by the strong sense of community and support for local artists that is present here on Long Island. She feels so blessed to be able to do what she loves!
