Event Details

While electric vehicles and emerging mobility options tend to appear first in communities with more resources, they can often have the greatest economic and environmental impact in traditionally underserved communities. Several efforts are underway to make these new mobility technologies more accessible to a broader range of communities.

In Washington, Forth is working with Drive Clean Seattle and ECOSS, an environmental organization specializing in multicultural outreach, to explore community interest in new mobility projects in the Seattle Area. Recent Washington legislation also directs the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency to evaluate options for such projects. Forth has partnered with community-based organizations in Oregon to conduct a community needs assessment, and to pilot an electric car sharing service in Portland.

Join us for a lively discussion of how new mobility technologies might benefit traditionally underserved communities in the region. Jose Chi of ECOSS will provide an update on the outreach being conducted in Seattle's underserved communities. Catherine Teebay, Program Manager, Forth will discuss projects Forth is engaged in which aim to provide transportation solutions for all.
