About this event

This registration is to attend the annual meeting in-person at the Society's headquarters at 30 Park Street in Concord, New Hampshire. The annual meeting is also available virtually. Please visit the Society's website at nhhistory.org to register for the virtual program.

The annual meeting is a members-only event, and admission is free. Enjoy the buffet lunch for $20 per person (lunch is optional). Seating is limited and in-person registration is required by May 31.

Arrival time is 9:30 a.m. The business meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. and feature presentations about the Society's recent activities and accomplishments.

Following the business meeting, enjoy a talk by keynote speaker Dayton Duncan on "How New Hampshire Helped Save the American Buffalo From Extinction."

A buffalo herd in the most unlikely of places (Sullivan County) and an eccentric, crusading nature writer (Ernest Harold Baynes) played a crucial role in the early 1900s in preventing what is now the national mammal from disappearing forever.

Dayton Duncan has collaborated for more than thirty years with Ken Burns on some of the most acclaimed documentary films. Their most recent one, The American Buffalo, premiered on PBS last October, along with Duncan’s fourteenth book, Blood Memory: The Tragic Decline and Improbable Resurrection of the American Buffalo.

An optional buffet lunch will follow.
