About this event

New exhibit alert! Now on display at the Carnegie, our newest exhibit featuring the history of our Mexican-American community in Roseville, The Movers and the Shakers, the 1920s-1960s.

Roseville has always had a rich history with various ethnic groups playing a vital role in the progress of our community. Beginning in the 1920’s, after the Mexican Revolution, a large number of people fled Mexico for a better life with many of them entering California.

This exhibit focuses on some of the “Movers & Shakers'' such as Cuellar, Tapia, Heredia, Aguilera, Santillan, and Bravo, who remained in Roseville and helped to form local organizations, bi-lingual newspapers, political groups, radio programs, softball teams, and eateries that would help preserve their heritage and culture as they went on to become citizens of Roseville.

Through pictures, artifacts, and written accounts, we learn about their history and how they were, and still are, an integral part of our beautiful community!

The Carnegie Museum is open Tuesdays - Fridays, 12pm until 4pm.
