Our incredible guests include teen activist and former Denver School Board candidate Tay Anderson, holocaust survivor Fanny Starr, founder of The Girls Athletic Leadership Schools, Liz Wolfson, paraplegic basketball coach Jess Markt, and poet Azure Antoinette. Nevertheless, We Persisted is a powerful collection of essays from actors, activists, athletes, politicians, musicians, writers, and teens, each writing about a time in their youth when they were held back because of their race, gender, or sexual identity--but persisted.
