Sarah Moshman is an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and TV Producer whose work has been featured onUpworthy, Marie Claire, CNN,andGood Morning America. After directing two short documentaries about female empowerment in young women, (Girls Rock! Chicago(2010) andGrowing up Strong: Girls on the Run(2012)) she set out to direct her first feature doc -The Empowerment Project: Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things(2014) which has been screened over 700 times around the US and around the world starting conversations about gender equality. Sarah's second feature doc,Losing Sight of Shorefollows the incredible journey of four women who rowed across the Pacific Ocean and was released globally on Netflix in May 2017. Next up she's directing a documentary examining sexual harassment in the workplace entitledNEVERTHELESS.Prior to working in documentary full-time, Sarah spent 10 seasons as a field producer on the hit ABC showDancing with the Starsas well as shows on MTV, NBC, Lifetime, Bravo and the Food Network. Sarah is dedicated to telling stories that uplift, inform and inspire as well as showcase strong female role models on screen.

The day before the Weinstein news and #METoo made headlines around the world in October 2017, Filmmaker Sarah Moshman at 8 months pregnant started filming interviews for a new documentary about sexual harassment. Since then Sarah has been working on a documentary that will examine the sexual harassment crisis through the eyes of 7 individual stories as well as a strong chorus of experts - a film titled NEVERTHELESS. 
NEVERTHELESS examines the social, legal, historical and masculinity aspects of the sexual harassment in our society interwoven with personal stories and calls to action for change. It's up to all of us to work towards solutions to this endemic problem. Nevertheless we persist.
After over a year of filming and over 40 interviews completed, the film is now in post-production and moving towards a Fall release date - but Sarah needs our help to get it across the finish line. This event is a fundraiser for the film.
Join us Wednesday March 20th for a truly unique and powerful evening. There will be some light nibbles and mingling from 7-730pm followed by an amazing panel of experts moderated by Director Sarah Moshman. Then we will be showing some never-before-seen exclusive clips from the upcoming film NEVERTHELESS.

Panelists include:
Professor and Author Dr. Caroline Heldman is an Associate Professor of Politics at Occidental College in Los Angeles, the Research Director for the Geena Davis Institute for Gender in Media, and the Executive Director of The Representation Project. Her research specializes in media, the presidency, and systems of power (race, class, gender). Dr. Heldman was one of many women who went public with allegations of gender discrimination against Bill O’Reilly that led to his firing from Fox News. She splits her time between Los Angeles and New Orleans where she co-founded the New Orleans Women’s Shelter and the Lower Ninth Ward Living Museum. Dr. Heldman also co- founded End Rape on Campus (EROC), Faculty Against Rape (FAR), and End Rape Statute of Limitations (ERSOL).
Toni Jaramilla believes in creating positive social change through dedicated and compassionate advocacy for the rights of workers. Since 1994, she has successfully litigated hundreds of cases of discrimination, racial and sexual harassment, wrongful termination, disability accommodations, leave law violations, retaliation/whistleblower, and wage and hour claims resulting in millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts. She represents clients from minimum wage earners to high level executives in all industries. She has extensive experience in both state and federal courts and has successfully argued before the California Court of Appeal.
Rashad Beal is the Schools over Violence Program manager at Peace over Violence as well as the Coordinator for the Engaging Men Project. He received his B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Africana Studies from California State University, Northridge. Rashad currently works with groups of with high-risk young men in South LA as well as adult males to engage and sustain men in the movement to end violence against women. He draws from his life experience to understand positive adolescent development as being most crucial to the health of a society and offer resources and options for boys. Rashad utilizes an unorthodox approach to youth education based on truth and honesty. He is a rising public speaker in the field around issues of sexual assault, consent, healthy masculinity and the intersections of race.
Marie Angel Hernandez is an undocumented transgender woman of queer expression, who immigrated to U.S. in 2007 escaping organized crime violence targeting trans women in Honduras.  From this point on she realized her gender identity was going to be weaponized against her for the mere fact of choosing to exist in her truth. But her passion for advocacy was born from collaborating with UNICEF from 1998 to 2002 using local media to educate the community of the problems that affected us as children such HIV/AIDS and child abuse related topics. That's when she realized the power of education and media. As a result she has dedicated her life to advocate for trans people of color's well-being by identifying the discriminatory systems in society that failed to provide equal access to education, workplace and healthcare; utilizing educational media as a mechanism to bring visibility to our narratives.
