Founded in 1983 with broad community based support, Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Los Angeles (formerly the Asian Pacific American Legal Center) is now the largest organization in the country focused on meeting the legal needs of one of the nation’s fastest growing populations. Advancing Justice – LA is a unique organization that merges the work of a legal services provider and a civil rights organization. For decades, Advancing Justice-LA has worked on key legal issues affecting Orange County communities - and in 2006, opened an office in Garden Grove, now called Advancing Justice – Orange County. Please join Asian Americans Advancing Justice, the Japanese American Bar Association, the Japanese American Citizens League and the Council on American Islamic Relations for a powerful panel on how attorneys & community advocates can come together to ensure that what happened in Manzanar, 75 years ago, never happens again.
