🌿 Nettlefest 2026 🌿
Saturday, August 1, 2026 | Hillsboro, West Virginia
Join us for a day of Appalachian music, culture, food, and community at Nettlefest 2026, a one-of-a-kind celebration hosted by High Rocks Educational Corporation in the beautiful mountains of Pocahontas County, West Virginia.
Named after the resilient and versatile stinging nettle plant (Urtica dioica), Nettlefest celebrates the creativity, traditions, and natural abundance of Appalachia. Held near the close of High Rocks’ summer camp season, this family-friendly festival brings together campers, musicians, artists, dancers, neighbors, and visitors from across the region for an unforgettable day in the mountains.

💃 Traditional line and contra dancing with a live caller and band
🎤 Presentations and performances from High Rocks Academy campers
🍲 Local food, Appalachian flavors, and community vendors
🌿 Folk arts, storytelling, and mountain traditions
🏕️ A welcoming outdoor atmosphere in scenic Pocahontas County
Nettlefest is more than a festival; it’s a celebration of culture, creativity, and connection. Proceeds support High Rocks’ mission to educate, empower, and inspire young people in West Virginia through transformational educational programming and community engagement.
