Tour of homes getting to zero energy usage.

Spin Laundry Lounge on Broadway

Residential buildings account for ​almost a quarter of all energy usage​ in the state of Oregon, and zero energy home design is an important strategy in climate adaptation. Join Solar Oregon, Passive House Northwest, Earth Advantage, Green Hammer, and the Home Performance Council of the HBA for this finale event of Sustainable Building Week 2019. Explore a mix of new and retrofit homes and learn all the surprisingly simple, accessible, and innovate strategies that homeowners use for getting to zero.This open-house style tour from 10 am - 4 pm will feature net zero, 'path to net zero', and zero energy ready homes in N, NE, and SE Portland. Bike, scooter, bus, or drive between a dozen homes on a 5 mile diameter circuit through the city. Make sure to stop by Tillamook Row from 12 - 2 pm for refreshments and a special tour of these net zero apartments by Green Hammer!Descriptions of the homes on the tour will be published at the beginning of Sustainable Building Week on Monday 10/14, and a digital map will be sent out to ticket holders via email on Friday 10/18. Paper maps will also be available to ticket holders at Spin Laundry Lounge on Broadway from 9 am to 12 pm the day of the tour. The tour will be followed by a happy hour celebration at Shine Distillery &amp; Grill.
