This event will allow our NERC-remit colleagues to explore project ideas, spark connections and surface new cross-College connections through a facilitated workshop centred around this collaboration-intensive call. Join us as we explore connections across skills, knowledges, experiences and networks as we dive into all things NERC RESET.

This workshop is intended for those interested in applying for NERC RESET funding and looking to make connections and meet potential NERC-remit collaborators. Attendees are welcome to bring their working ideas for this session. From around 10:00-11:45, you can expect a call overview and facilitated networking/workshopping, with the rest of the time allocated for more informal networking.

We have also set up a Padlet to capture the broader expertise available at Glasgow who might be interested in the NERC RESET programme. You are welcome to contribute to the Padlet regardless of attendance at the workshop. This funding opportunity is the strategic research portion of the larger RESET programme

The RESET programme vision is to generate the knowledge, evidence, tools and approaches needed to anticipate and respond to ecosystem transitions at local to global scales. RESET will deliver understanding of how ecosystem change affects resilience, security and prosperity, and will support decisions and actions that sustain ecosystem functions, strengthen economic prosperity, societal resilience and national security.

Projects should address one or more of the three themes listed below. Within each theme, the funders have identified several knowledge gaps that could be addressed. More details on this can be found on the funder guidance page.

Theme one: predicting ecosystem change and transitions

Theme two: understanding ecosystem change through cascading risks

Theme three: building ecosystem resilience
