Neighborhood Eats

Veggielution brings people from diverse backgrounds together through food and farming to build social capital in East San Jose. Our aim is to help our neighbors experience a richness of community life that connects residents to one another and to those outside their neighborhood to create more robust social networks and encourage people to take positive action in their community.Veggielution uses food and farming to achieve social change in East San Jose. On our farm, we build the neighborhood's internal cohesion necessary for community action and the neighborhood's external connection to people, resources, and opportunities coming in from outside to support that action.

Veggielution

Veggielution will be hosting Saturday Suppers to discover and elevate the best food in East San José. San José is in a moment of transition. As the city looks to the future, we believe that diverse community conversations will drive what’s happening in San Jose today, and will inform its evolution. Anchored in the city’s <A HREF="https://www.sanjoseca.gov/index.aspx?nid=1737" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">General Plan</A>, which looks to guide San José’s growth to 2040, the Knight Foundation event series will take an action-oriented and creative approach to get people invested in the future of their city.
Starting in summer 2018, this initiative will consist of a year-long series of 20+ diverse, community-led conversations throughout San José neighborhoods and communities.
