Overview

Join us for a program focused on the changes found as part of the 2023 edition of the National Electrical Code

Join us for a full-day seminar focused on the significant changes introduced in the 2023 National Electrical Code® (NEC®), presented in alignment with the IAEI educational program and tailored for electrical professionals working in West Virginia. This course will provide a practical review of the most important revisions impacting design, installation, inspection, and enforcement of electrical systems.

Throughout the day, attendees will explore key updates across the Code, gain insight into the intent behind revised requirements, and discuss how those changes affect real-world applications in the field. The seminar is designed to help inspectors, contractors, electricians, engineers, designers, and other industry stakeholders build confidence in understanding and applying the 2023 NEC.

With a focus on usability, consistency, and improved safety, this seminar will break down major Code changes in a format that supports both learning and implementation. Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of the new requirements and how they influence electrical work across the state of West Virginia.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this full-day seminar, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify major changes introduced in the 2023 National Electrical Code® (NEC®) and recognize where those revisions affect everyday electrical work.
  2. Explain the intent behind key Code changes and how those updates support safer electrical installations and enforcement.
  3. Apply revised NEC requirements to the design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  4. Compare select 2020 NEC and 2023 NEC requirements to better understand what has changed and what those changes mean in practice.
  5. Interpret new and revised provisions in a manner that supports consistent Code application across a variety of occupancies and installation types.
  6. Recognize changes affecting key stakeholders including electricians, inspectors, contractors, engineers, designers, and plan reviewers.
