About this event
Welcome to NDIS Connect: Sunshine Coast - brought to you by the team at Quest Collective.
New to the NDIS space? Or maybe you're a seasoned pro looking to connect with passionate, like-minded people? Either way, you're invited to a morning of real conversations, great coffee and zero competition.
What is NDIS Connect?
NDIS Connect is a fast-paced, 'speed-dating-style' networking event designed for people across the disability sector from Providers and Allied health professionals to Participants, Carers and Coordinators.
It's free, fun, and all about building relationships, sparking collaboration and sharing knowledge that makes a difference.
Guest Presenters - October Session
We're kicking off our October event with two incredible speakers who bring deep insight, lived experience and real-world strategies to the table.
Suzi Scrimshaw - Specialist Support Coordinator, Inspire Consulting Australia
Suzi is a seasoned Support Coordinator, consultant and presenter working across Australia to empower people with a disability, their families and the professionals who support them. Based on the Sunshine Coast and drawing from her lived neurodivergent experience, Suzi offers a unique systems-level understanding of the gaps between policy, providers and real-life needs.
Suzi will share practical strategies for navigating NDIS Change of Circumstances (CoC) targeted at supporting Autistic people, but applicable to other disabilities. Covering:
- What is a change of circumstance?
- When and how should the NDIS be notified?
- What is the process for plan reassessment where changes indicate this is needed?
- What documentation and evidence is required to support and obtain this?
- Who can support you?
- What happens next?
- Tips for success
Whether you're a support coordinator, service provider or simply trying to make the NDIS work better for someone you care about, Suzi's insights will leave you better equipped to advocate, collaborate and innovate.
Geordie Carr - Senior Mental Health Occupational Therapist, Forbes Care
With a background shaped by personal recovery and years of clinical experience, Geordie Carr is a Senior OT and Clinical Educator known for his strategic approach to Functional Capacity Assessments.
In this session, Geordie will explore:
- What makes a Functional Capacity Assessment truly impactful?
- How excellent report writing can strengthen NDIS plans and influence funding
- Why aligning clinical depth with clear, Participant-centred language matters
Geordie works primarily in complex mental health and psychosocial disability, and is passionate about elevating the role of Allied Health in driving better NDIS outcomes, one great report at a time.
The first half of NDIS Connect is dedicated to learning from our presenters, with the last half allocated to networking and getting to know everyone in the room.
Who Should Attend?
If you're part of the NDIS ecosystem, whether you're a Provider, Participant, Carer, Coordinator, Support Worker, Allied Health Professional or somewhere in between, this event is for you.
