NCAR Mesa Laboratory Public Tour

Exploring the National Center for Atmospheric Research's (NCAR) Mesa Laboratory and Visitor Center is a fun and educational way to spend some time in the Denver metro area. Meet our tour guides at the iconic NCAR Mesa Laboratory, designed by I.M. Pei, to learn about atmospheric science, climate science, and other current research being conducted at NCAR.

Currently, the UCAR Center for Science Education (SciEd) is hosting 1-hour public tours at noon (12:00 pm) Mountain Time every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday* (excluding observed holidays). Walk-ins are welcome! If you would like to let us know you are coming in advance you can reserve your tickets through Eventbrite, but it is not required for attendance.

*Note: From 03 June - 26 August 2023, SciEd will be hosting Public Noon Tours on Saturdays. This offering is currently only planned for this summer.

This tour is best for groups of adults, families with kids aged 10 years old or up, or homeschool groups. This public tour is NOT designated for school field trips or private tours. If you are interested in a school field trip or private tour, please check our website.

The NCAR Café is open to the public for food service from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. MT.

• On the day of the visit, any person who feels or appears ill, or appears to have COVID-19 symptoms, may not enter the facility for the visit. We expect all visitors to do a self-analysis before coming onsite.
• Masks will be optional for all visitors and staff.
