Join us for this one-hour session organized by the Global Committee of the OB division. As a participant, you will get a chance to meet other first-time attendees, ask questions, and hear tips and tricks on planning and preparing for the annual meeting, as well as on how to successfully navigate the meeting once you are there.

All are welcome. However, this session is geared towards those planning to attend the Academy for the first time.


Speakers


Elizabeth George (Ph.D., University of Texas at Austin) is the KPMG Professor of Management Studies at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. She has an active research interest in nonstandard work arrangements and diversity in the workplace. Her work has been published in major international academic journals such as Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, and the Academy of Management Annals. In addition, her research has been used by the International Labor Organization and the US Society for Human Resource Management to help inform public policy and management practice. She served on the Board of Governors of the Academy of Management, the executive committee of the Managerial and Organizational Cognition Division of the Academy, and is currently Division Chair of the Organizational Behavior Division. She is currently also co-editor-in-chief the Academy of Management Annals. She has held academic positions at universities in Asia, Australia, and the United States.


Gabriela Cuconato is a PhD candidate from the Department of Organizational Behavior at Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio. Gabriela joined the OB and MOC divisions in 2021, when she first attended the virtual AoM meeting.

Gloria Willhardt is a PhD Candidate at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, Germany. Gloria joined the OB Division and Careers Division in 2022, when she first attended the Academy of Management meeting in Seattle, USA.

Juliana Carvalho is a PhD candidate from the Brazilian School of Public and Private Administration, at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV/EBAPE), in Rio de Janeiro. Juliana joined the OB and DEI divisions in 2022, when she first attended the Academy meeting in Seattle, USA.

Kyle Ehrhardt is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Denver. Kyle has been a member of the Academy of Management since 2009, when he first attended the AOM meeting in Chicago, Illinois.

Minna Paunova (PhD, IESE Business School) is Associate Professor at Copenhagen Business School. Currently, she is heading the efforts to better serve the global membership of the OB Division in her role as chair of the Global Committee of the OB Division. Minna has been a member of the OB Division (as well as the IM and DEI Divisions) since 2010, when she first attended the meeting in Montreal, Canada.
