Kentucky State University's Community Resource Development team presents a series of Train the Trainer events on Navigating Kentucky's Heirs Property.

By attending this training, you can:

  • Learn how to identify heirs property issues and address the economic and cultural impact on Kentucky communities
  • Apply for $2,200 stipend to conduct heirs property or estate planning workshops in your local community
  • Earn in-service credit in KERS for Extension agents

The speakers and topics covered are as follows:

  • Irma Johnson, Kentucky State University: Overview of Heirs Property Issues in Kentucky
  • Douglas C. Howard, Howard Law Group PLLC: Estate Planning and Succession Laws in Kentucky
  • Joe Childers, Childers and Baxter PLLC: Working with an attorney to address heirs property and clear clouded titles
  • Kevin Slovinsky, LiKEN Knowledge: Heirs property issues in the Appalachian region of Kentucky
  • Kendal Bowman, University of Kentucky: How to conduct a workshop in your community and receive a stipend

Register on this page for the training on October 20 at the Harold R. Benson Research and Demonstration Farm in Frankfort, Kentucky. The training will last from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and lunch will be served.
