Participants will learn about current research on the intersection of nature and mental health, learn specific suitable therapeutic approaches, as well as the practical elements to consider when taking clients outdoors. Learning Objectives:At the end of this presentation, the participant will: <ul><li>Assess client fit for ecotherapy including how to understand a client’s nature autobiography </li><li>Describe Schreiber-Pan’s Ecological Model of Psychological Well-being </li><li>Utilize ethical and legal considerations into your practice </li><li>Apply NIT interventions and activities, for example, metaphor, ritual, and ceremony </li><li>Explain the Attention Restoration Theory </li><li>Experience how exposure to challenges in nature boosts resiliency </li><li>Discuss how connectedness to Nature shows a positive correlation with positive affect, vitality, autonomy, personal growth and purpose in life</li></ul>Workshop registrants will receive a code prior to the webinar to log on to Zoom and participate in the online session.

Heidi Schreiber-Pan, Ph.D., LCPC, NCC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor and clinical director of the Chesapeake Mental Health Collaborative (CMHC) in Towson, Maryland and founder of the newly launched Center for Nature Informed Therapy. Dr. Schreiber-Pan specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, stress reduction and occupational burnout. Her workshops and seminars are offered all over the United States. As an affiliate and former faculty member of Loyola University, Maryland, her past research has focused on resiliency, psychological well-being and nature informed therapy. Dr. Schreiber-Pan has worked with various organizations, schools and corporations to reduce stress on a communal level and to increase organizational well-being through training in positive psychology as well as integration of nature into mental health. She is the author of the successful self-help book: Taming the Anxious Mind.

Zoe Jack, MS, LMSW, RYT , is a licensed psychotherapist at Chesapeake Mental Health Collaborative where she specializes in nature informed and client centered work with children, adolescents, and adults. As a former wilderness therapy field guide in Utah and a behavior interventionist at a trauma informed school in Vermont, Zoe incorporates the teachings of the natural world into her treatment approach with individuals and groups. In 2017, Zoe had the opportunity to thru hike the 2,190 mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine, solidifying her therapeutic philosophy that connection and presence lead to meaningful healing and growth. Zoe holds her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland and currently serves as the advisor to CMHC's Center for Nature Informed Therapy.

<h3>*PLEASE NOTE - The MD Board of Social Work Examiners has reviewed the learning objectives of this NATURE workshop and has APPROVED that it meets the criteria for Category 1 CEUs.</h3><h3>The Pro Bono Counseling Project is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Pro Bono Counseling Project maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The Maryland Boards of Social Work Examiners and Professional Counselors and Therapists certify that this program meets the criteria for three credit hours of continuing education for social workers (Category 1), professional counselors, and therapists (Category A ) licensed in Maryland. </h3><h3>CE credit is granted to FIRST-TIME participants with documented attendance at individual workshops. Attendance is monitored. Credit will not be granted to registrants who log on late or depart early from a session. It is the responsibility of registrants to comply with these requirements.</h3>
