What to expect:

The Nature Detectives Trail is an exploratory nature trail with five stations. Participants will stop at these stations to report their findings or engage in activities. The last station is located at Gulbenkian, with four stations placed along the trail. At the BioBlitz 2024 information desk, families will be equipped with a map and guidebook before starting their journey, and kids will be asked to take pictures of their favourite objects (wildlife, family, person) during this activity. Families will be welcomed back at the end of their experiences, and kids will be asked to choose their most favourite picture to be printed out and stick on the BioBlitz wall.

About BioBlitz 2024:

BioBlitz is an interactive, participatory, one-day event bringing together families, school groups, and local community members to engage in nature-based learning with University of Kent students, scientists, and local wildlife experts, including Kent Wildlife Trust; Butterfly Conservation; Kent Moth Group. Hosted by the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE), the aim of the event is to record as many species of wildlife as possible on campus.

Please note:

No booking is required for the nature-detectives trail. This is a self-directed activity, so feel free to stop at the nature-detectives trail desk at any time during the day to start the trail.
