About this event

Participants will learn about the environment, native wildlife, and early history of Weedon Island on this guided hike.

This tour is for adults and youth ages 10+. Youth must be supervised by an adult. Attendees will meet inside the Cultural and Natural History Center for a short introduction before departing for the trails. The total hike length may be up to two miles. This tour may traverse uneven, natural paths or boardwalks so please prepare accordingly.

Proceeds from this program go to the Friends of Weedon Island. The Friends support the Weedon Island Preserve through education, preservation and protection of its habitats, ecology, and cultural history. Become a Friend today!

Where do we meet?

We will meet in the Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History Center lobby.

What time does the Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History open?

The Center lobby opens at 9:00 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. The center opens at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays.

What should I bring?

For the best experience, please follow these recommendations: Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes to protect your feet. Bring plenty of drinking water for every individual in your group.Wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen as much of the trail is in partial to full sun. Bring and apply insect repellent.

Is there parking?

Yes. The Weedon Island Cultural and Natural History has a parking lot available by the building as well as some spots by the pier. Parking is first come, first served. Carpooling is always encouraged!

5. Do I need to print out the tickets?

No. You do not need to print out the ticket for THIS event. When you enter the lobby at 9:00 a.m., a wonderful member of our team will check you in by your name.
