Frequently asked questions

What do I need to bring to class?

Clothes that are comfortable and while making soap we ask you to have the following: long sleeve shirt, goggles, and long pants. There is on site restroom facility to change and a coat rack.

What are some of the plant oils and butters we will use?

Cocoa butter, Olive Oil, Sunflower oil, and coconut oil.

Will I get to choose how to make my project?

Yes, you will be provided with locallly grown and resourced herbs and botanical flowers, oats if you'd like to make oatmeal soap, essential and fragrance oils to add creativity to your 1-pound soap.

Will I get to take my finished project home the same day?

Yes. Please bring a tote bag to carry your items home.

What if I can't attend class? Can I get a refund?

There are no refunds. However, you may reschedule your class for another date. Kindly, send an email to: connect@herbalstemmers.us with your subsequent date based on our upcoming class schedule. If there is space you will receive an email confirmation.

Will I be provided with a list of suppliers if I'd like to purchase my items in bulk?

Yes, all participants receive a supplier list and have an opportunity to join the Herbal S.T.E.M.mer's private Facebook Group to share ideas and ask questions.

How long is class?

Class is two in a half hours. You will be provided with two break periods.

What is the cold-process method of soap making?

Cold-process soap making is the process of adding lye and oils to create soap. We will go over the types of cold-process soap making tips and you will be provided with recipes too!
