Who we areFarm Discovery at Live Earth is a nonprofit organization working in the Pajaro Valley community to empower youth and families to build and sustain healthyfood, farming, social and naturalsystems. Our home, Live Earth Farm, is a 150 acre patchwork of working farm, riparian corridor, oak and redwood forest in the Pajaro Valley of Santa Cruz County, California.What we care aboutWe believe that we cantransform personal and community healthand improve our impact on earth by building and sustaining collaborative agricultural, ecological and social systems. We believe that communities armed with knowledge and the skills of inquiry can transform food, farming and natural systems for the better.What we doFarm Discovery offers educational programs that inspire youth and families to transform their relationship to food, farming and nature.We steward our working farm and its wild spaces as an environmentally and economically viable piece of the food system and a learning space.We collaborate with community partners to learn from each other and extend our collective impact in the community.

Farm Discovery at Live Earth

Participants will learn to layer textures, build compositions, and create unique prints that highlight local ecology.

Farm Discovery at Live Earth, Upper Farm

Discover the shapes, textures, and patterns of the farm in this printmaking experience. Participants will gather and work with materials ethically and sustainably sourced from the farm—leaves, flowers, spores, fibers, and other organic elements—to explore stamp-making, monoprinting, lithography, and layered compositions. Guided exercises encourage close observation of the farm’s flora &amp; fauna, soils, and landscapes, allowing each particiapnt to translate local ecology into unique, textured prints that capture the character of the land. All materials will be provided.Please bring a water bottle, good walking shoes, a hat, and a snack.Accessibility: This workshop includes extended periods of walking, bending, and standing. Please inform staff of any necessary accomodations.
