Event description

Description

Following last year’s successful inaugural conference, the 2017 Native Title and Economics Conference again hosted by the Federation of Victorian Traditional Owner Corporations, the University of Melbourne’s, Melbourne Business School and the National Native Title Council will have the theme:

Building Bridges: Reconciliation Action Plans and Opportunities for Indigenous Enterprise

The Commonwealth’s Government’s Indigenous Procurement Policy has met with considerable success in encouraging the development of Indigenous enterprises. However many private sector organisations have Reconciliation Action Plans that set Indigenous Supply Chain targets. The potential private sector spend greatly exceeds the Commonwealth’s. Exploring the opportunities thus created becomes important task for Indigenous businesses.

Who should attend?

  • Procurement officers from firms with RAPs
  • Native Title and other Indigenous Community organisations pursuing economic development objectives
  • Private Indigenous entrepreneurs
  • Researchers
  • Government Policy Officers
