Join Arizona Public Media for a preview screening of NATIVE AMERICA, a new four-part PBS series that challenges everything we thought we knew about the Americas before and since contact with Europe.
Lindsay Montgomery, Ph.D., University of Arizona Assistant Professor of Anthropology, who provided expert commentary for the series, will speak. A preview of the series will follow. 
Screening is free, but seating is limited. RSVP required. 
Crowder Hall doors open at 5:30 p.m. Program begins at 6 p.m.
Parking is available in the Park Ave Garage (Speedway & Park Ave.) Take the walkway under Speedway and the School of Music is the third building on your right.

About the series
NATIVE AMERICA travels through 15,000 years to showcase massive cities, unique systems of science, art, and writing, and the social networks and spiritual beliefs that connected 100 million people across two continents. The series reveals some of the most advanced cultures in human history and the Native American people who created it and whose legacy continues, unbroken, to this day. Native America explores this extraordinary world through an unprecedented combination of cutting-edge science and traditional indigenous knowledge. It is NATIVE AMERICA as never seen before—featuring sacred rituals filmed for the first time, history changing scientific discoveries, and rarely heard voices from the living legacy of Native American culture.
About Lindsay M. Montgomery, Ph.D.
Lindsay Montgomery, Ph. D.,  is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Arizona where she teaches and writes about colonialism, resistance, indigenous knowledge, and cultural landscapes. Before joining the University of Arizona faculty in 2016, she held a post-doctoral fellowship at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, working alongside Dr. Chip Colwell to co-author a manuscript on the history of Indian Education among the Hopi, Lakota (Sioux), Cheyenne-Arapaho, and S’Klallam tribes. Dr. Montgomery received a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Human Rights from Columbia University and completed her Ph.D. in anthropological archaeology from Stanford University in 2015. Her dissertation research focused on Ute, Apache, and Comanche encampment practices and iconographic traditions in seventeenth and eighteenth century Rio Grande region. Her current fieldwork revolves around a field school at Picuris Pueblo located in northern New Mexico. 
NATIVE AMERICA premieres on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 9 p.m. on PBS 6.
