It's National Trails Day, and you are invited to a FoGVG membership event!

FoGVG members and our friends who might like to become members of the Friends of the Genesee Valley Greenway are invited to attend a picnic and cookout at Letchworth State Park. We have several guest speakers who will cover the following topics:


  • Friends of Letchworth Restoration Project with PTNY - Guest Speaker John Kantrowski
  • Re-Connecting Trail 7 - Guest Speaker Hank Adams
  • The Soap Opera of the Genesee Valley Canal - Guest Speaker Jules Hoepting


After our picnic and the presentations we will take a hike on Trail 7, which was recently restored for the first time in 20 years!

This event is open to current and new members! We are excited to see everyone there!

Is this event free?

This event is free to members and food will be provided. If you are not a member and would like to attend, you can RSVP here to get your spot, and then complete your membership sign up at the event, or you can sign up online: https://fogvg.org/join-us/membership

Do I need to be a member to attend?

This event is for current and new members! We fully encourage people to attend and complete their membership enrollment at the picnic.

Will this event be held if it rains?

Yes, it will be held rain or shine. Bring your raincoats in case of rain.

What should I bring?

It is recommended to bring a lawn chair although there are tables. Also an umbrella or raincoat in case of rain.

Is there a fee to enter the park?

This event is held on the east side of the park, so there is no entrance fee.

Is it required that I RSVP through Eventbrite?

Yes, we need a count of attendees to plan the picnic. We appreciate you doing this so we have the right amount of food!
