About this Event

Join Independence Seaport Museum and Nathaniel Philbrick for an evening discussion related to Philbrick's book, Why Read Moby-Dick?, as we gear up to celebrate Herman Melville’s classic novel in November 2019 with the Moby-Dick Marathon Reading.

In Why Read Moby-Dick?, a finalist for the New England Society Book Award, Philbrick unpacks the legacy of Herman Melville's best-known novel. Philbrick’s writing has appeared in Vanity Fair, The New York Times Book Review, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and The Boston Globe. He has appeared on the Today Show, the Morning Show, Dateline, PBS’ American Experience, C- SPAN, and NPR.
