Naptown NerdFest

The Maryland Theater for the Performing Arts (MTPA), will be our State capitol's first major music, arts, and convention center and is planned to be built within the next 4-5 years. We now own the property and have developed a state of the art architectural design which envisages a 1000+ seat theatre as a vital multi-use center that utilizes advanced streaming and webcasting technology to facilitate innovative and exciting artistic and cultural expression, as well as, community developments.

Stage One, an MTPA program

Come participate in this unique event that celebrates fun tech-oriented activities and demonstrations as well as promotes our Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) programs to area students and families. Naptown NerdFest will be focused on participation in techy and science-oriented events, demos and displays (e.g. LEGO robots, science fair demos, STEM awareness), light saber battles, super hero mask making, comic pop-up shop, Magic the Gathering intro games, young performing musicians, and many other activities.  Additionally, in the evening we will crank up the fun and celebrate the NerdBall and costume contest with the outstanding Weird Science band providing 80’s tunes for our geeky get together.
Dress in your best geeky costume to compete for prizes in the costume contest in the evening.
Come out for a lot of technogeek fun and great music!
