Nancy Sharp, author, and national speaker will present " Igniting Your Resilience “ on Thursday, October 22 from 4-5:30 pm.

The Connecticut Geriatric Society is proud to welcome Nancy Sharp to lead us in our first ZOOM program, which promises to inspire and embolden us to Ignite our Resilience.  Both members and non-members are welcomed to join us as Nancy presents: <ul><li>A new resilience model for today’s COVID-19 world and beyond</li><li>The three questions that drive innovation and growth</li><li>Strategies to raise and sustain emotional intelligence</li><li>The ability to see disruptive events as opportunities for change, and to reframe limiting beliefs</li><li>How to own and share the story you were meant to live</li><li>New goals and a bold action plan to meet them</li></ul>Nancy Sharp: Born and raised in Easton, CT, Nancy Sharp is a nationally recognized keynote speaker and trainer focused on resilience. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College and is a certified instructor in Guided Autobiography. Nancy’s prizewinning, bestselling memoir Both Sides Now: A True Story of Love, Loss, and Bold Living is an unforgettable portrait of the surprising turns life takes, and the resilience Nancy summoned in order to keep stepping forward. Nancy is also the author of the picture book Because the Sky is Everywhere. Her work has been published in several essay anthologies, and articles, essays, columns, and letters by her have appeared in The New York Times, Next Avenue, The Huffington Post, Kate Couric&#x27;s Wake-Up Call, journals for the American Academy of Psychotherapists and the University of Colorado Hospital’s Center for Bioethics and the Humanities, and elsewhere. Nancy writes a regular column on caregiving and resilience for the Cancer Support Community, Nancy has delivered programs on resilience at New York&#x27;s 92nd Street Y, the New York Life Insurance Company, Centura Health, Livestrong Foundation, the University of Colorado Hospital, University of Denver, Continuing Education Association of New York, and numerous other businesses and groups nationwide.
