NAMI SF Volunteer Open House

NAMI SF is hosting a monthly Volunteer Open House!

Want to learn about ways to get involved and give back? Check out the Open House! There are tons of ways to volunteer with NAMI SF and the Open House is a great space / opportunity to meet staff and explore available positions. Our team is always looking to engage motivated community members. For new and existing volunteers.

NAMI SF is a grassroots mental health advocacy organization that provides peer support services for individuals and loved ones. As an organization, we approach mental health from a community, lived experience perspective and believe that symptom management and recovery is possible.

Volunteers are at the heart of what we do and drive NAMI SF programs forward.

Possible Volunteer Roles:

-Supprt Group Facilitator - for groups for peers, loved ones, and ones that are community-specific (i.e. BIPOC, Spanish-Language, Cantonese)

-Educational Class Teacher - for groups for peers, loved ones, and ones that are community-specific (i.e. BIPOC, Spanish-Language, Cantonese)

-Educational presenter - share your story of living with a mental health condition to a range of audiences including high school students, community organizations, professional workplaces, and the general public

-Warmline Support - review voicemails left for our warmline (like a helpline but someone leaves a message and receives a return call) and call people back with information on NAMI programs/resources and/or ones available in San Francisco

-Event Planning and Communication - support the NAMIWalk event planning and fundraising teams, support branding and social media campaigns

Our team is hosting the Volunteer Open House on the first Thursday of each month from 6:00 - 7:00pm. This is a casual, conversational space - feel free to drop in for a few minutes starting at 6p or stay the whole hour.
