Founded in 2013,Novum Dance Collective(formerly Nozama) is a contemporary dance company dedicated to exploring and celebrating human identity through movement. Led byArtistic Director Dana Alsamsam, Novum’s work engages with themes of identity, gender, and power, particularly focusing on the women’s and queer experiences. Our performances, known for their raw emotional intensity and technical power, aim to resonate, challenge perceptions, and inspire social change. With over a decade of creative collaboration, Novum produces two major concerts each year, alongside participation in local festivals like NACHMO, Boston WiP, and the Dance for World Community Festival. Our dancers are given opportunities to grow as choreographers, teachers, and arts leaders, contributing to a vibrant and supportive artistic community.Our small arts organization would not exist without your support as audience members and donors. Your investment goes a long way with us--$17 sponsors an hour of rehearsal, $68 covers our work for a week! Please consider sending in a special gift to keep us dancing this season.

Suggested Donation: $10! Join us on Saturday July 9th at 7 PM at Mass Motion Dance in Brighton for N2, an intimate showing of new works presented by Nozama Dance Collective. This show will showcase five world premieres by directors and members of the collective, commentary by the works’ creators, as well as a screening of AUTONOMY, the dance film. Join us in pushing boundaries at this performance of new, timely, and powerful work. The event is ticketed but FREE with suggested donation of $10 and open to the public – reserve your seats today!
