FAQs

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There's a lot of free parking on the streets, but it usually is limited (especially on weekends). There are some garages that are free on weekends, but you may have to walk a good bit to get to the Park from there. If you do choose to park in a garage and you have to pay, they DO have pretty reasonable prices. If you have to park a ways away, or you are unable to walk that distance, Greenville DOES have city busses (http://www.greenvillesc.gov/154/Routes-Fares-Schedules), which aren't terribly expensive.

What about the weather?

It's South Carolina in the Summertime, so we all know it should be HOT at 1pm on the day of Mythicon. The good news is, there are lots of shady spots in Falls Park to hang out, plus many places to walk out into the river (not over a few inches deep). However, if it is just beyond hot OR thunderstorms/rain are predicted, I will post on the Mythicon SC page what the game plan will be.

What can I bring to the event?

Feel free to bring friends or family. If you have kids, bring 'em! If you have parents, bring 'em My goal, as Mythicon SC organizer, is for the event be as family friendly as possible. Not because we're babies, but because I want to see that people of any age, religion, race, background, etc. can come together and have a good time. If there's anything our country needs, it's more "come together regardless of who you are" events.

As far as physical items go - you're more than welcome to bring corn hole, frisbees, footballs, etc. - Anything that makes outdoors a bit more fun!

What about food?

There are a TON of restaraunts in downtown Greenville, ranging from around $5 a person to well over what I make in a day. If, once we all get together, we'd like to decide on a place to go eat dinner (or Supper, as I was raised saying, lol), that's awesome. If not, that's also fine! It would be totally in addition to the meeting at Falls Park. And hey, if you want to bring food with you to the Park, do it!

How will I locate the Mythical Beasts at the Park?

I (the organizer) will have a poster board with me (Hopefully, in a shady spot) I'm not sure what will be on it yet, but I will have one. Just look for it. Mythical Beasts will understand what's on it :P

As we get closer to the event and I have a feel for how many to expect, I will make it much more accessible to contact me in case you get there and cannot find me.
