About this event

Ilze Burkovska-Jacobsen, filmmaker for the Annecy Contrechamp winner MY FAVORITE WAR. This cut-out animation feature is filmmaker Ilze Burkovska-Jacobsen’s personal story of growing up in Cold War Latvia, at the time a USSR republic. After finding the remains of a German soldier in her sandbox, young Ilze wonders what is buried beneath the authoritarian propaganda surrounding her, and she sets off on a voyage of discovery. A story from our recent past resonating with the times we live in today.

The film is available to preview for attendees ahead of the event starting now and through to February 20th, the day of the Q+A.
