Chicago-based children’s and middle grade author Dr. Rekha S. Rajan will be bringing a musical story time to Call & Response Books on Saturday, June 8! She will be performing two of her books, Can You Dance Like a Peacock? and This is Music: Drums. Kids will be encouraged to interact and dance/sing/perform along! Great fun for the whole family.
Registration is encouraged, but not required! Each book purchase will come with a free mini maraca!
Dr. Rekha S. Rajan has authored over 15 books for kids and adults, including fiction and nonfiction. Her books have received numerous sacred reviews and have been listed on multiple BEST BOOKS lists. Her book Amazing Landmarks is a finalist for the 2024 Rhode Island Children’s Book Award. Rekha is a classically trained opera singer, has performed in numerous musicals, and plays the mridangam, the piano, banjo, ukulele, djembe, bongos, recorder, and various other instruments. She is the editor for the Journal of General Music Education with the National Association for Music Education.
