The Northwest Symphony Orchestra (NSO) will conclude its 2023-2024 season at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the Forest View Educational Center Auditorium, 2121 South Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois.
Join the NSO and Music Director Tim Semanik for an afternoon celebrating the music of Polish composers. The program will open with stalwarts of the Romantic Era. Stanisław Moniuszko’s concert overture Bajka (“The Fairy Tale") reflects an affinity for the tone poems of Liszt dressed in Polish garb and Henryk Wieniawski’s beautiful violin showpiece, Legende, Op. 17 will be performed by NSO concertmaster Marley Haller. The concert will then move into the 20th century as the highly-regarded Polish soprano soloist, Ewa Kowcz-Fair, sings Witold Lutoslawski’s Silesian Triptych and will conclude with the monumental Third Symphony of Grażyna Bacewicz.
Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors age 65 or older, $12 for a senior group of 10 or more purchased together, and $10 for students with ID. Children under the age of 14 are admitted free of charge if attending with an adult who has purchased a ticket.
