About this event

Donations will assist musicians and other citizens of Ukraine who have been forced to flee for their safety or who choose to remain in their home and resist the Russian invasion.

The Sheffield Chamber Players are giving their time and music for the benefit of all Ukrainians. Originally from Kyiv, where he graduated from Kyiv Glier College of Music, Sheffield's violist Alexander Vavilov emigrated to the United States in 2001, where he studied at the Boston Conservatory and New England Conservatory, and co-founded Sheffield Chamber Players in 2014. An introduction to the players can be found here. The concert will feature music by Bach, Day, Dvorak, Golijov, Roustom, and an arrangement of Ukrainian folk songs.

All donations for this event will be collected by Temple Beth Elohim and shared among HIAS; the International Rescue Committee; and to provide direct financial relief to Ukrainian musicians through The Lisa Batiashvili Foundation.

This concert is free with Suggested Donation Levels: $36, $54, $72, $90 or ______whatever amount you are able to donate.

You may attend the concert at Temple Beth Elohim or on the livestream. When you Register, you will indicate whether you will be attending in person.

Our aspiration of shalom is one of wholeness for each individual, our community, and our world. Across generations, we share in learning (Torah), searching for the sacred (avodah), and engaging in acts of caring and healing (gemilut chasadim) to create wholeness, fulfillment, and peace (shalom) for ourselves, our community, Israel, and our world. We embrace the diversity of needs and perspectives of our community members with the utmost respect.
