Join Davis Highlands Orchard & Farm for a fun and educational workshop on mushroom cultivation! Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this event is perfect for anyone interested in learning how to grow mushrooms at home.


Our mycologist, Walker, will guide you through the essentials to grow mushrooms at home. Learn about substrate types, fruiting blocks, building an at-home lab, and the perfect climate condition--outdoors and indoors. TAKE HOME your own fruiting block to try your new skills at home!

May I bring my child and/or pet?

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and pets are not allowed.

Will I need any materials?

We will show you all of the materials you need to grow mushrooms at home. We do recommend something to take notes.

Where can I park? How do I get to the mushroom facility?

Park anywhere that is convenient, including the grass if it’s not wet. When you arrive, we will greet you and guide you towards the barn, where the class is held.

Is mushroom growing safe?

Yes, it is very safe. We will provide safety equipment if necessary. Individuals with respiratory health issues should bring medications to be extra precautious in cases of spore exposure.
