We look forward to welcoming you to the National Jazz Museum in Harlem (NJMH). Your health and safety are our top priorities. NJMH is following guidelines for increased health and safety procedures issued by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), New York State and New York City.Beginning August 19, 2021, the Museum requires all visitors 12 years of age and older to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Masks are required for all visitors. NJMH is working to reduce risk by requiring everyone in the Museum to wear a face covering and maintain physical distancing. We have also implemented staff health checks; established a regular cleaning schedule; incorporated enhanced cleaning of high-touch surfaces throughout the day; and installed hand-sanitizer stations in the Museum. NJMH will continue to monitor and abide by Federal, State and City guidelines to inform our operations.We require all visitors to follow the safety guidelines outlined below. NJMH reserves the right to deny entry to anyone who refuses to adhere to these guidelines, and to ask visitors who do not follow these guidelines to leave the Museum’s premises.Make sure to plan for your visit.To ensure we provide a safe environment for all, the Museum has the following additional protocols in place:<ul><li>Entry to the Museum is by timed ticket or reservation only and capacity is limited. Please reserve entry here</li><li>All visitors ages two and older are required to wear face coverings. This includes those who are vaccinated. Face coverings must be worn for the duration of your visit. CDC guidelines advise face coverings should:</li><li>Reach above the nose, below the chin and completely cover the mouth and nose</li><li>Fit snugly against the sides of the face</li><li>Maintain physical distancing. Keep at least six feet from others (about two arms’ length) not in your group.</li><li>Wash hands and use hand sanitizer regularly during your visit.</li><li>Follow directions from NJMH staff.</li><li>Do not touch the Displayed instruments, frames, platforms, labels, display cases, or anything used to protect the art.</li><li>Do not touch interactive displays without gloves.</li><li>Visitors should bring their own wired head/earphones for interactive displays</li><li>Report symptoms of illness. Stay home if you are feeling sick.</li></ul>Important Safety GuidelinesAn inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public space where people are present. The National Jazz Museum in Harlem cannot guarantee you will not be exposed to COVID-19 during your visit to the Museum. Those visiting the Museum do so at their own risk of such exposure.To request an accommodation based on a medical condition or disability, email info@jmih.org prior to your visit.Those unable to visit in person may visit the Museum’s website for updates to guidelines and information regarding virtual programming.
