MURDER at the Coffin Club - A VTM LARP Experience

The Coffin Club is a place of ill repute - a place frequented by humans seeking the thrill of a vampire's bite and vampires willing to give them a taste. Run by the enigmatic 'Kitten' - the institution has run afoul of Kindred (Vampire) and Kine (Human) authorities for a variety of debauch reasons. However recently, with a string of murders targeting 'fang hangers' - kine who actively seek out the vampires of the Coffin Club - more and more investigation from both Vampires and mortals is occurring. Over the course of a night of intrigue, you will immerse yourself into the sanguine and sensual world of the undead, in the role of either a human or vampire - and not only solve the murder - by help decide the fate of club!

MURDER at the Coffin Club is set in the world of the hit immersive LARP "The Embrace", run by Vampire KC and use the same easy to use LARP rules, based on the simple concept of challenge, consent, and 'playing to lose'. Rules will be available before game for review and posted in this event page shortly. Players will either take on the role of a vampire, whose objective is to 'feed' on humans possessing certain styles of blood, human 'fang hangers' who desire to be fed on by certain vampires to gain pleasure and power, or investigators, attempting to solve the murders.

Players will attend a 30 minute workshop prior to the start of the game, and then be invited to participate in an immersive story for the next 3 hours, run by expert Storyteller Dan Symes and a cast of Vampire KC associates. Players who wish for a more immersive experience can email apparitionbar@gmail.com to set up a one on one session with the storyteller - or arrive on site after 7 PM to meet with the storyteller staff.

ReRoll After Dark: This event is one of the first ReRoll After Dark Events, in which the Board Game Bar ReRoll Tavern will be transformed via lighting and decoration into 'the Coffin Club' for the evening, and offer Vampire Vibes, themed cocktails, and a swanky spooky time.

Vampire the Masquerade: Vampire: The Masquerade" is a popular role-playing game set in a dark, gothic-punk universe where players assume the roles of vampires, known as Kindred, who are entwined in a nocturnal struggle for power, survival, and supremacy. Within this world, vampires are organized into distinct clans with their own unique abilities and characteristics, governed by a complex societal structure that includes a set of ancient laws known as the Masquerade, designed to conceal their existence from humans. Players navigate through political intrigue, moral dilemmas, and personal horror, as they battle for dominance, manage their need to feed on human blood, and wrestle with the fading remnants of their humanity. This game combines rich storytelling and deep character development to create a compelling, immersive experience that explores themes of power, corruption, and identity

Parlor LARP: Parlor LARP, is a form of live-action role-playing that typically occurs in a single room or confined setting, emphasizing social interaction, political intrigue, and personal drama over physical activity. Players embody characters with rich backstories and complex motivations, engaging in a narrative-driven experience that involves negotiation, deceit, and alliance-building, all within a structured set of rules and a pre-determined storyline. These games focus on the psychological and emotional aspects of role-play, often using minimal props and costumes to enhance the immersive quality of the experience without the need for large play areas or intense physical exertion.

Character Creation: Players are invited to come prepared with concepts for their human or vampire character, and will be able to imbue their character with personality and backstory as they see fit. Players will be given simple character sheets based on the vampire clan which they are playing as, or if they are playing a human role.

Character Death: In the event of a characters demise - players are invited to return to the game as new human arriving at the bar.

Resonance / Feeding: This game introduces to the World of the Embrace resonances and feeding. Each human player shall have a secret 'blood type' and each vampire will have a secret, often changing desired blood, with matching blood types empowering them, and unmatching types weakening them and instead empowering their victim. This will lead to a constant game of cat and mouse between vampire and humans, as they feed and attempt to gain power over their rivals.

Disclaimer/Content Warning: Vampire the Masquerade is a Gothic Punk game of personal horror, and as such, some of the stories may be disturbing. Themes of violence, sensuality, loss, addiction, codependency and grief are just a few of the possible themes explored in VTM. Players are invited to remember that they can leave any scene they like by utilizing the 'fade to black' mechanic. Storytellers will also be on hand to help with the logistics of this and player safety should always be a top priority.
