Mural Camp: July

If you have a creative pre-teen or teenager, they won’t want to miss this opportunity to work hands on with local muralist, Tessa Hall Duquette, as she guides them through the process of painting their very own mural to be displayed in the ViBe Creative District as part of the Community Fence Murals project.

What’s it take to design & install a mural from start to finish? By the end of this camp, they will have the knowledge and experience needed to apply to art festivals or even get hired for commissioned work!

FOR: Creative pre-teens & teens. Ages 11+.

WHEN: Mural Camp is a series where each camper will attend all 4 day, followed by a friends and family event hosted the evening of the 5th day.

There are three options for camp—a June session, July session & August session. Be sure to register for the right one as the three sessions are not interchangeable.

Session 2: July 29th, 30th, 31st, and August 1st

Each day will be from 10am to 1pm.

A party for friends & family will take place the evening of August 2nd.

INVESTMENT: $600 per creative camper. All materials provided. Gallery exhibit included.

SPACE IS LIMITED: To provide the best experience for each creative camper, there are limited spots per session.

WHAT HAPPENS AT MURAL CAMP:

• Your teen will be taught the tools and techniques needed for painting large-scale art.
• They’ll design and install a mural with expert guidance from start to finish.
• Then they will showcase their art at their very own gallery opening (and yes, you’re invited!).

In just 4 days, your teen will learn exactly what it takes to create a mural from start to finish.

On day 1, Tessa will teach them about the process required to prepare to paint a street art design. They’ll learn the tools needed and tricks of the trade to make sure their finished painting looks as good as they imagined. By the end of day one, their mural design will be traced and ready to paint.

On days 2, 3, and 4, they will outline and paint their mural with Tessa’s help and guidance from start to finish.

On day 5, we’ll celebrate with a gallery opening after the finishing touches are finalized. At 7:30pm, friends and family are invited to celebrate your teen’s hard work and creativity with an exhibit opening and artist panel.
