Multispectral Remote Sensing: Basic Image Processing and Analysis

This workshop will teach participants the basic principles of remote sensing, satellite image processing and geographic information systems.

The Multispectral Remote Sensing: Basic Image Processing and Analysis workshop has the following objectives for its participants:<ul><li>to have a general understanding of the basic principles of remote sensing, satellite image processing and geographic information systems (GIS);</li><li>to have a general understanding of how remote sensing systems work;</li><li>to have a working technical knowledge of and skills in basic satellite image processing and analysis; and</li><li>to identify possible applications of remote sensing to/on mundane environmental problems here in Guam .</li></ul>The workshop will start with a quick walkthrough on the basic principles and concepts of remote sensing, followed by a hands-on tutorial on the use of free and open source image processing software. Participants will need to download this free software prior to the workshop. Further information on prerequisite materials and Zoom meeting details will be provided later in an email.
