Welcome to the Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix.


Kick off the first official weekend of summer on June 22-23 by cheering on the U.S. SailGP Team as it goes head to head with the F50 fleet against the backdrop of the world's most iconic skyline. 


The Mubadala New York Sail Grand Prix will deliver two days of action-packed racing and entertainment! Come for the party, stay for the racing – there’s no sailing experience required to enjoy a great weekend on Governors Island.


The sport’s best athletes representing 10 nations will compete on identical 50-foot foiling catamarans, flying over New York Harbor at 60+ mph right in front of the SailGP Race Stadium. Alongside the racing, fans can enjoy food and drinks, live music and more [musical acts to be announced].

Watch the high-speed action on the water from your own boat. Boaters can purchase a flag to secure a premium viewing position inside the exclusion zone, giving you the best vantage point to watch all the action. Vessels must be under 80 feet to be eligible for the BYOB program and cannot be used for commercial purposes.

For the third year running, SailGP has partnered with leading marine services agency BWA Yachting to manage and deliver SailGP Adrenaline Yachts – a premium superyacht experience taking place at each of the SailGP events in SailGP Season 4.

BWA Yachting in partnership with SailGP to manage and deliver SailGP Adrenaline Yachts. The program offers an unprecedented experience and is designed for owners who want to witness the most exciting racing on-water from the comfort of their own yacht.

The limited availability membership guarantees a preferred 'front row seat' on the racecourse perimeter within a designated area. Superyachts will be positioned at the first high-speed reaching leg for an unrivalled view of the heart-pumping racing. For the ultimate experience, the Adrenaline Yacht Flag grants access to additional event activities, such as Tech Base Tours and a meet and greet with the athletes.

Frequently asked questions

Where in New York is the event?

The Race Stadium and Team Base Site is located on Governors Island, overlooking the New York skyline and the Statue of Liberty. Governors Island is accessible exclusively by ferry only.

When is the event?

Race days are on Saturday, June 22 & Sunday, June 23, 2024. Team Base Tours run from Friday, June 21 to Sunday, June 23, 2024.

How do I get to the event?

Governors Island is accessible by public ferry departing from Battery Maritime Building located at 10 South Street in downtown Manhattan. Round trip ferry tickets are included in the price of Waterfront Reserve tickets. More information will be provided closer to the event date.

When does the Race Stadium open?

Race stadium hours will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Plan ahead and arrive early to leave plenty of time to park and take the ferry transfer to the event site, and for the entry searches and ticket checks and the event entrance.

When is Racing scheduled?

Racing is expected to begin at 4:00 PM EST. It is highly recommended that you arrive early to avoid long lines. Racing times are subject to change.

What should I bring with me?

Suitable footwear as there is a walk from the ferry to the Race Stadium Sunscreen and/or hat In case of bad weather, a raincoat Refillable water bottles or an empty drinking container, to use our free refill water points to stay hydrated throughout. As a reminder, no single-use plastic bottles.

Is there a fan shop?

Absolutely, treat yourself to some official SailGP merchandise from our Fan Shop. A wide range of quality items are available to buy whilst the Race Stadium is open.

What first aid facilities are onsite?

Our first aid team will be situated in the Race Stadium. Please ask one of them if you need assistance during your visit.

Are there restrooms onsite?

There are public restrooms on Governors Island and within the Race Stadium, including fully accessible facilities.

Is there a left luggage facility?

Unfortunately there is no left luggage facility available within the Race Stadium. Please plan ahead and check the prohibited items list and permitted bag sizes before you leave your home.

Are there lost property facilities?

General lost property will be taken to the Information Point just outside the Race Stadium entrance. Please ask one of our Event Ambassadors if you need any assistance. Items found in the Race Stadium will be kept until the end of Sunday, June 23 and then disposed of.

Can I smoke or vape in the Race Stadium?

Smoking is prohibited on Governors Island, including the use of tobacco, e-cigarettes and marijuana.

Will this event take place rain or shine?

The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather causing the cancellation of racing, refunds would be offered in line with the Refund Policy on our sailgp.com website.

Is SailGP family friendly?

SailGP events are fun and welcoming for all ages, with child tickets available for purchase for ages 6-17. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Can I bring my own water bottle?

Single use plastics are not permitted into the Race Stadium. Reusable water bottles are encouraged, as water refill stations will be available. This initiative is to support SailGP’s dedication to being the most sustainable sports event and save our oceans from single-use plastic.

Can I bring my own food & drink?

Unfortunately no food, drinks or coolers can be brought into the Race Stadium, Exceptions will only be made for medically necessary items or baby food after proper inspection. A range of local food and beverage options will be available to purchase in the Race Stadium.

What is Sail GP’s search policy?

For your safety, it is a condition of entry that all bags are subject to inspection by our security team before you can enter the event site. Carefully check the list of prohibited items (see Security section or Event Terms & Conditions on sailgp.com)

How many bags can I bring?

One bag that does not exceed 30 x 30cm may be brought into the event site. In addition, guests may also carry in a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.

Can I bring my dog?

Pets or other animals are prohibited on Governors Island with the exception of service animals in accordance with New York State Law. There is no specific dog spending area in the event site.

Can I bring a camera?

Cameras are allowed but please be mindful of those around you and respect their privacy. Any/all standing equipment, tripods or equipment that obstructs the view of other visitors is prohibited. Please check the prohibited items list.

Can I fly my own drone / UAV?

No. Unauthorized drones are strictly prohibited on or in the vicinity of the event site and our on water race course, as they are dangerous to SailGP helicopter and drone operations.

Is Accessible Viewing Available?

Wheelchair accessible viewing and easy access viewing is available at the front of our grandstands. Companions attending with spectators with accessible requirements are welcome to join them. Carers for persons with disabilities are entitled to a free ticket please contact ticketing@sailgp.com .

General Facilities ?

Race Stadium facilities are accessible to all, including catering and bar outlets, the Fan Shop and restrooms. Unfortunately no hearing loop is available at this event.

Service Animals ?

Pets or other animals are prohibited on Governors Island with the exception of service animals in accordance with New York State Law. There is no specific dog spending area in the event site.
